5 Ways to Add More Cheer to Christmas

Dec 4, 2020 | Female Empowerment

This year has truly challenged most of us to adapt to a new way of life. This is especially true with the holidays. Just because your holiday plans may look a little different this year doesn’t mean that you can’t make great memories. Check out 5 ways to add more cheer to your Christmas celebrations!

1. Use your fancy dishes.

This Thanksgiving, we opted to stay home and have a small Thanksgiving dinner just the four of us. The night before my husband and I were talking about how different this year has been and how he was feeling a little sad about not seeing family. We decided to make it a little more fun for our kids (and let’s face it, for ourselves too) we dusted off our wedding china. I think we have used it maybe twice in 12 years of marriage. The kids got such a kick out of it and it added a special touch to another day at home.

2. Make a new recipe

You know that recipe that has been on your list to make.

Seriously, just do it. What are you waiting for? Switch up your usual holiday menu with that recipe you’ve saved to your Pinterest, in your web search history, or told your mom that you need to make it. It could become your new favorite thing to eat… or it could turn out to be garbage. And if that’s the case, who cares, ‘cause it’s 2020! I made creme brûlée for the first time ever for Thanksgiving and it turned out freakin’ delicious!

  • Famous People
  • Musicians
  • Cartoon Character
  • Dress in one color

4. Create a Signature Drink

Cocktail or mocktail or both, having a signature drink is a fun way to celebrate, and bonus, it cuts down on having to have all the beverage options! Here are some tasty beverage options you may want to incorporate this holiday season! Here are three very different and delicious drinks you can cheers to the holidays with.

5. Do a craft contest

Young or old, crafts really are fun for everyone. Go a step further and make your crafting into a contest. Post pictures of everyone’s crafts on social media for people to vote on or have everyone who crafted vote for their winner, but they can not choose their own. Spray paint a fork gold and the winner gets the Golden Fork!
