3 Ways to Enjoy Your Favorite Ice Cream

Jul 17, 2020 | Featured Box Item, Recipes

It’s summer and July is National Ice Cream Month, so chances are you’ve already been enjoying a pint (or two or three) of your favorite ice cream flavor. Fun fact: vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor. Here are three unique ways to enjoy your favorite ice cream.

1. Add popcorn to your list of toppings

Popcorn and ice cream? Heck yes! Not only will it add a little texture to your ice cream, depending on what flavor popcorn you use, you’re likely to create a whole new flavor! We love the combination of vanilla bean ice cream and Pink Lemonade popcorn from Cornucopia Popcorn, an item from our July Sweet Summer Treats box. Pink Lemonade Popcorn 2. Sweet + Salty

It’s a classic combination that honestly I don’t know why I’ve never done this before. Vanilla bean ice cream with Blue Henry’s Lime Rimming Salt is the perfect combo that will have you wanting an endless supply of each. Sprinkle the salt on sparingly; you can always add more to your liking.Salted Vanilla Ice Cream

3. Waffled Ice Cream Sandwich

We’re fanatics about ice cream cones, but sometimes you just gotta take it up a notch. Enter – waffles. Make sure you toast your waffles so they’re nicely brown. Now is not the time for pale waffles!

My daughter, beyond happy that I’m making waffled ice cream sandwiches.

Next, take a big scoop of your favorite ice cream and lay it on one of the waffles. I highly recommend putting the ice cream on the waffle as soon as the waffle is toasted. The warm waffle will start to melt the ice cream and it’s just….so damn good!

Top it with a second toasted waffle.

Sandwich that sweet deliciousness and ENJOY! You could totally add some sprinkles or nuts around the ice cream and if you’re making these to enjoy later, wrap tightly with plastic wrap and store them in the freezer until you’re ready to devour.
